NMR spectroscopy and multivariate regression methods were used to control heparin animal origin.

PLS and RR showed best performance with LOD and RMSEV below 2% and 1%, respectively.

The developed method was applicable to heparinoid matrix (not purified heparin).

The simple and cheap NMR method is recommended for screening of heparin authenticity regarding its origin based on chemomteric modelling.
