The effects of bifunctional linker and reflux time on the surface properties and photocatalytic activity of CdTe quantum dots decorated KTaO3 composite photocatalysts
CdTe quantum dots were loaded onto KTaO3 cubes using MPA or TGA as linker molecules. Shorter chain length of TGA as compared with MPA promotes photocatalytic activity. Fluorescence quenching of nanodots indicates electron transfer from CdTe to KTaO3. The size of CdTe quantum dots affects Vis driven photoactivity of CdTe-KTaO3. 2.04 nm CdTe dots are favorable for photoactivity of the TGA-CdTe-KTaO3 composite.
