High temperatures (<40/28 °C) are found to be detrimental for potential productivity of Mungbean. Screening of the elite mungbean germplasm revealed sufficient genetic variation for pod and seed yield under heat stress. Genotypes EC693357, EC693358, EC693369, Harsha and ML1299 were found to be heat tolerant, which was associated with higher biomass, number of flowers, pods and seed weight under high temperatures. Heat-tolerant genotypes showed lower oxidative damage and maintained relatively higher nodulation and reproductive function.
