The effect of soot radiation in a turbulent methane–air flame is studied.
Radiative properties were solved with the WSGG model and LBL.
Soot radiation contributed to local increases of 30% in the radiative heat source.
Soot radiation contributed to increase the radiative heat flux on the wall in 25%.
Comparisons of WSGG with the LBL solution provided maximum normalized error less than 1.2%.
