PMRs represent a green system for water treatment as well as for organic synthesis. In PMRs the photocatalyst can be both in suspension and entrapped in/on a support. PMRs have been successfully tested in the removal of dyes and drugs from water. Submerged PMRs with oxygen bubbling limit membrane fouling. A PMR allows to improve the overall productivity in organic synthesis.
