Conversion of a vinylidene to an alkoxycarbene at a Fe(dppe)Cp centre is reported.
The methoxycarbene [Fe{C(OMe)Me}(dppe)Cp]+ has been structurally characterised.
Fe-Cα distances for a range of heteroatom stabilised carbene ligands are compared.
