A framework for assessment of railway capacity consumption is developed. A predefined timetable is not required as different train sequences are generated. Evaluates buffer times to estimate if capacity utilisation is robust against delays. Ideal for strategic planning, especially when evaluating infrastructure scenarios. Framework implemented using a longest path approach and a stochastic simulation.
