Kappaphycus alvarezii cultivation and its impacts on the benthic diversity were documented. Daily growth rates and biomass yields of K. alvarezii were recorded. Species richness, evenness and diversity of benthic diversity were recorded in control and culture site. The farming of K. alvarezii has some negative impacts on macro and meio faunal populations. Further, the routine environmental monitoring studies are very important on the farming sites of K. alvarezii.
