We find high Vp/Vs ratios at Harrat Lunayyir, likely resulting from old dyke intrusions.
We find low Vs and high temperature of mantle-lid at the southern/northern Arabian shield.
The Vs and temperature patterns are due to thermal conduction from the Afar/Jordan plume.
The volcanism of western Arabia may be due to small-scale adiabatic ascent of magma diapirs.
