Enantioselective transformation of amphetamine-like compounds was studied.

Stereoselective degradation, via microbial metabolic processes, favours S-(+)-enantiomers.

R-(−)-enantiomers are more recalcitrant in the environment.

Enantiomer-specific ecotoxicity of amphetamine-like compounds should be undertaken to verify risks.
