Sparse-reconstruction-based 2-D angle of arrival estimation with L-shaped array

In this paper, a novel two-dimensional (2-D) angle of arrival estimation algorithm based on sparse signal reconstruction is addressed with an L-shaped array. By constructing a cross-correlation vector of the received signals, the 2-D angles estimation are obtained by ℓ1ℓ1-norm minimization and least square procedure, respectively. Without pair matching process, the proposed algorithm can provide improved resolution and estimation accuracy. The simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
