Synthesis of di-n-butyl carbonate from n-butanol: Comparison of the direct carboxylation with butanolysis of urea by using recyclable heterogeneous catalysts
DnBC has been synthetized starting from n-butanol and either CO2 or urea. 0.03Nb2O5/CeO2 is the best catalyst for the direct carboxylation of butanol. 0.5MgO/ZnO is the most active and robust catalyst for the butanolysis of urea. Catalysts with different acid/basic properties are required in the two methodologies.
