Advanced reduction processes (ARPs) are very robust on the removal of bromate. Current developments on photocatalytic reduction of bromate were summarized. The photocatalytic agents and activation methods were provided. Operational parameters and degradation mechanisms were presented in detail. Future research needs for ARPs to reach full-scale potential were discussed.
