Simultaneous distributed measurement of the strain and temperature for a four-point bending test using polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating interrogated by optical frequency domain reflectometry
The simultaneous distributed strain and temperature measurements were demonstrated. High accuracy was achieved by using PANDA-FBGs with high birefringence. OFDR measured strain and temperature distributions with the 1 mm spatial resolution. We discussed the effect of the residual strain and the data averaging.
