Visualization of metal tube damage using double helical microstrip lines and self-sensing time-domain reflectometry method

Double helical microstrip lines were proposed for crack visualization in a tube. Double helical MSL functions as a long-range sensing line without bend sections. Cross-talk noise was reduced using a differential circuit and a double helical MSL. The proposed method can be applied to crack detection for a metal tube. Crack existence probability was visualized using the Kriging approximation.
