Synthesis and characterization of refractory TiZrNbWMo high-entropy alloy coating by laser cladding

Refractory TiZrNbWMo high-entropy alloy coating is prepared by laser cladding. The as-clad and annealed coatings have BCC phase and minor β-TixW1 − x precipitates. The morphology of HEA coatings present dendritic and interdendritic microstructure. The microhardness of the coating is about 700 HV0.5, and increase after annealing. The refractory HEA coating shows a superior thermal stability.
