Temporal and spatial stabilities of pollen-climate relationships is confirmed in eastern continental Asia. The temporal stability in the Holocene permits pollen-based past climate reconstructions. Slight regional differences between the Tibetan Plateau and north-central China are revealed. The regional differences imply the pollen-climate calibration-set should be restricted spatially.
