Guidance for stormwater quality management in low-exposure schemes is lacking. Regulatory approaches across jurisdictions (EU, US, Australia) were reviewed. Australian guidelines and Water Safety Plan principles provide a basis for guidance. Faecal source apportionment and in situ performance validation frameworks are key. A Stormwater Use Management Plan framework was proposed.
