Both external and personal-level antecedent factors play a significant role in explaining why adolescents use SNSs. Adolescents with poor relationship with their fathers are more likely to depend on SNSs for identity formation. Dependence on SNSs for identity formation is the strongest antecedent of deficient self-regulation and habit strength.
