An upper limit of dynamic strain on macro fiber composite (MFC) for achieving reliable performance is obtained experimentally.

MFC shows high reliable performance for 60 million cycles below dynamic strain amplitude of 600 μϵ.

A significant degradation in performance of MFC is noticed when operating above 1000 μϵ of strain amplitude.

MFC shows nonlinear stress-strain behaviour below 1000 μϵ and does not exhibit clear linear elastic limit.

Cracking is initiated in MFC around 1000 μϵ during tensile testing.
