Effects of oxygen plasma treatment on interfacial shear strength and post-peak residual strength of a PLGA fiber-reinforced brushite cement

文摘

O2-plasma treatment of PLGA fibers led to altered surface roughness and chemistry.

Fiber/matrix interfacial shear strength (ISS) increased after O2-plasma treatment.

These changes were dependent on both treatment time and plasma power.

Increased ISS led to altered fracture behavior of the PLGA fiber-reinforced CPC.

High ISS led to higher post-peak residual strength at physiological relevant strain.
