Fire behavior and resistance of partially encased and slim-floor composite beams

Fire behavior of PE (partially encased) and SF (slim-floor) beams was investigated experimentally and numerically. Fire reinforcements in SF beams were found to be very effective for increasing fire resistance. Test-validated coupled thermal-stress finite element analysis modeling was developed. Deflection-related criteria should be used for the rational fire resistance rating of PE and SF beams.
