Enhanced both perm-selectivity and fouling resistance of poly(piperazine-amide) nanofiltration membrane by incorporating sericin as a co-reactant of aqueous phase
NF membranes were prepared with mixed aqueous-phase reactants of PIP and sericin. Membrane physico-chemical properties were tuned by varying the sericin content. The incorporation of sericin increased membrane pore size, hydrophilicity and charge. Enhanced perm-selectivity could be attained by the control of sericin content. The incorporation of sericin improved membrane fouling resistance to BSA.
