An experimental spray cooling study was performed with ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH). Use of binary mixtures allow tuning of the system pressure-temperature. Up to 800 W/cm2 heat fluxes, 145 kW/m2 °C heat transfer coefficients were obtained. Binary mixtures cause depression in boiling due to mass diffusion resistance. Impact of diffusion resistance on spray cooling would be less important.
