A detailed parameter study to understand thermoelastic damping in ring resonators.

High-Q can be achieved with small diameter thick rings or large diameter thin rings.

The damping in support legs can influence significantly on the energy dissipation.

The leg damping depends on the leg geometry and optimum geometry can be identified.

Addition of slots has detrimental effect on high-Q rings i.e. increase energy loss.
