Fructose-conditioned flavor preferences (CFPs) were observed in BALB/c and SWR mice.

Dopamine (DA) D1 antagonism reduced fructose-CFP expression in both strains.

Opioid antagonism failed to affect fructose-CFP expression in both strains.

Extinction of BALB/c fructose-CFP acquisition was hastened by DA D1 antagonism.

SWR fructose-CFP acquisition was blocked by DA D1 antagonism.
