Mechanical planting and harvesting can mitigate the issue of labor shortage. There were no cases of sugarcane expansion in forest land and conservation areas. Workers responded positively to health and safety issues associated with farming. Investment in irrigation system is required for the sugarcane expansion. The good practices in sugarcane cultivation can reduce cost of production.
