Differences in total soil nutrients and particle size were observed between a mid channel and riparian wetlands created using different dredged material placement techniques. Wetland soil from the two differently constructed wetlands did not differ in potential nitrate removal rates. Potential nitrate removal was maximized in the wetland submerged aquatic habitats.
