Time-varying properties of gypsum have remarkable effect on wastewater coagulation. Ripening is a mechanism for affecting the dispersion of gypsum/kaolinite particles. Ostwald ripening equations were embedded into the extended DLVO model. Four stages of potential variation happen in the ripening and coagulation process.
