Female guppies were treated with methylphenidate hydrochloride (Ritalin®).

Fish were exposed to different novel stimuli: environment, object, or male.

Treated fish were more exploratory in the novel environment and novel object test.

Treated females were more responsive to the second male than controls.

This suggests dopamine could alter novelty-seeking in this non-traditional model.
