Adolescents are comparable to adults in cued response inhibition. Adolescents demonstrate impaired ability to respond promptly after cued response inhibition. Response inhibition during an instructive cue is modulated by methylphenidate in adult but not adolescent rats. Adolescents are less sensitive than adults to cognitive effects of methylphenidate. Dose-response profile of methylphenidate is different between adults and adolescents.
