The optical constants of CZTS are determined by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE).

The absorption coefficients (α) yielded by SE and spectrophotometry are in agreement.

The band gap (Eg) determined from Tauc plots was ~1.57±0.02 eV.

α is a few 104 cm−1 just above Eg and exceed 105 cm−1 above photon energy ~2.5 eV.

Samples have equivalent efficiencies of 2.8% (500 nm) and 5.3% (800 nm).
