Metal volatilization was of minor importance at 290 °C. Metals were conserved in torrefied biomass. At 800 °C, Zn, Cd and Pb volatilization was evidenced. At 800 °C, metal volatilization differed between Control and metal-enriched poplars. Chlorine content of initial biomass modified the metal volatilization behavior.
