Anorexia of aging predicts physical frailty, after controlling for demographic, physiological, and lifestyle covariates. The use of a simple nutritional appetite questionnaire (on anorexia of aging) is able to predict frailty, whereas blood nutrition data are not. This study is the first to determine the prevalence of anorexia of aging among community-dwelling Japanese older people.
