Aedes albopictus Cecropin A1 and B are antimicrobial against two Francisella sp.
Culex pipiens cecropins are also antimicrobial against Francisella (F.) novicida.
These peptides depolarize and form pores in membrane of F. novicida.
Cecropin A1 and Cecropin B genes are significantly induced in C6/36 (Aedes albopictus) cell line in response to F. novicida infection.
