Polyol synthesis and characterization of ZnO@CoFe2O4 MNP’s to study the photodegradation rate of azo and diphenyl type dye

Magnetic nanoparticles of ZnO@CoFe2O4 photocatalyst has been synthesized by polyol reflux method for degradation of organic dyes. The synthesized MNPs were characterized using XRD, IR, TEM and AGM for elucidate its structural, morphological and magnetic properties. The BET analysis was also carried out for determination of its surface area. The lattice constant, X-ray density, surface area and volume of MNPs were determined from XRD patterns. The synthesized MNPs were explored to study its photocatalytic activity using malachite green (diphenyl type), thymol blue (azo type) and methyl orange (azo type) dyes. This synthesis method is simple and fast for synthesis of dispersible and magnetically separable photocatalyst.
