Smoking prevalence remains high among the nursing professions in Germany. A program to prevent and reduce tobacco use including evidence-based psychosocial and environmental components. Implementation of the total program was feasible in most nursing schools. About 30% of smoking students participated in a cessation intervention. Participants reported higher anti-smoking norm perception and social support.
