Theoretical and experimental study on heat transfer characteristics of normally impinging two dimensional jets on a hot surface

The heat transfer behavior of impinging jets is studied by theoretical and experimental investigation. Closed form expression is obtained for viscous boundary layer thickness and Nusselt number. Unified modelling parameter is identified from the analysis and used to correlate the theoretical prediction with test data. Based on the present experimental investigation, a correlation is proposed to predict the Nusselt number.
