Thermal treated Chlorella biomass enhanced biogas production in CSTR reactors. Bacterial communities of digesters treating Chlorella biomass were elucidated by NGS. Bacteroidetes, Chloroflexi, Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were predominant. Richness, diversity and evenness indexes were high regarding inoculum and reactors. Fermentative proteolytic bacteria were predominant over saccharolytic microbes.
