Water activity, mixing enthalpy, density and viscosity measured for water + [EMIM][SCN] or + [EMIM][DCA]. Data on system energetics (both from this work and literature) correlated simultaneously by an NRTL-type model. VE(T,x) and Δη(T,x) correlated by Padé approximants with T-dependent parameters. Energetic behavior of the studied systems is closely similar and reflects highly hydrophilic nature of both ILs. [DCA] anion appears to be slightly more hydrophilic than [SCN].
