A FDTD solution of scattering of laser beam with orbital angular momentum by dielectric particles: Far-field characteristics

Scattering of orbital angular momentum (OAM) laser beam by dielectric particles is studied. The 3D CPML FDTD technique is applied in the solution of OAM laser beam scattering. Forward-scattering peak disappears when laser beam has orbital angular momentum. This feature of OAM beam scattering may result in an accurate profiling of particle layers.
