Experimental Validation of Aluminum Nitride Energy Harvester Model with Power Transfer Circuit

We present an analytical model of a piezoelectric energy harvester and validate its performance to a finite element analysis and measured data. The model comprises a new piezo-beam component, based on Bernouilli Beam theory and standard piezoelectric theory. The model is parametric and simulates the direct and reverse piezoelectric effect, computing charge and displacement in six degrees of freedom. The harvester with load resistor is co-simulated in a single environment of a commercially available circuit simulator. The accuracy of the model is within 2 % . We also present three improvements of the power transfer circuit.
