We empirically test the OWA operator as a preference model. Compared to additive weighting (SAW), OWA fits actual preferences less well. Subjects whose preferences better fit the SAW model are more consistent. Estimated level of orness indicates a non-compensatory attitude. Estimated weights indicate OWA could represent heuristic decision processes.
