Pyroclastic succession of eight basaltic scoria cones have been analysed from the Auckland Volcanic Field.

Three types of eruption sequences were responsible for scoria cone growth in the Auckland Volcanic Fields.

Lava-fountaining and Strombolian activities formed most of the scoria cones in the Auckland Volcanic Field.
