We review the impact of second home tourism in a unique environment. We examine the role of real estate firms and local government as partners in intensification of second home development. We present the case of Bat-Yam's International Biennale of Landscape Urbanism. We illuminate the consequences of unplanned second home development for a sustainability of a fragile environment. We study the absence of holistic approach to second home development and void of any form of regional and urban planning.
