Heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of trans-4,5-diaminocyclopent-2-enones. Obtained yields up to 95% using n-butanol as the reaction medium. Substrate scope extended to secondary amines. Efficient reuse of catalyst for 8 runs using n-butanol/n-hexane as the reaction medium.
