A diffraction of a Gaussian beam by a four-sectorial binary grating is investigated. The angular sectors consist of parts of a binary rectilinear grating. The theoretically derived diffracted wave field is supported by experimental results. Higher diffraction orders are similar to cosine-LG(n=0,l=2) beam in the far field. The central dark spot of the higher diffraction orders is nonvortex.
