We model hydrodynamics in two estuary arms with different fetches. In the arm with higher fetch even small, frequently occurring winds influence sediment transport. In the reduced fetch arm, larger and less frequent winds influence sediment transport. The generated τw over the intertidal areas is similar for both spring and neap tides. The seaward flux of sediment is more likely during neaps in a wave-dominated system.
