BaxSr1 − xFeO3 samples were examined for sensing electrode (SE) of YSZ-based oxygen sensor.
BaxSr1 − xFeO3-SEs gave negligible responses to various interfering gases.
The oxygen sensing behavior of the sensors obeyed Nernst equation at 450–600 °C.
The sensor using BaFeO3-SE worked well as a λ sensor at 600 °C.
The sensing performances were comparable to those of a sensor using Pt-SE.
