Crashworthiness performance of double section bi-tubular structures was investigated. Energy absorption increased with inscribed diameter of polygonal section. Influences of polygonal section of the inner tube on crashworthiness also studied. Bi-tubes with hexagonal inner tube combination had more energy absorption capability.
